UIN STS Jambi Sukses Gelar Orientasi Mahasiswa Internasional Asal Malaysia dan Thailand

 

Jambi, 11 September 2025 , Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Thaha Saifuddin (UIN STS) Jambi sukses menyelenggarakan kegiatan pengenalan dan orientasi khusus bagi mahasiswa internasional yang berasal dari Malaysia dan Thailand. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di lantai 4 ruang Ampiteater kampus utama, sebagai bentuk penyambutan hangat bagi mahasiswa asing yang tidak dapat mengikuti PBAK reguler.

Sebanyak 29 mahasiswa internasional mengikuti kegiatan ini, terdiri dari 27 mahasiswa asal Malaysia dan 2 mahasiswa asal Thailand. Mereka tersebar di tiga fakultas utama: Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan (FTK), Fakultas Syariah (FSY), dan Fakultas Ushuluddin dan Studi Agama (FUSA).

Dion Ginanto, selaku Korpus PLKI, melaporkan bahwa mahasiswa internasional tersebut berasal dari berbagai program studi, antara lain:

Dalam sambutannya yang diawali dengan tiga buah pantun cantik, Rektor UIN STS Jambi, Prof. Dr. Kasful Anwar, M.Pd, menyampaikan harapan agar mahasiswa internasional dapat aktif berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan kampus maupun masyarakat.

“Selamat datang mahasiswa baru, saya berharap untuk ikut aktif dalam kegiatan kampus dan kegiatan masyarakat. Kalau di tempat kos-kosan jangan lupa untuk lapor pak RT, ikut aktif kegiatan yasinan,” ujarnya.
“Saya berharap agar mahasiswa dapat membaur dengan mahasiswa lokal, dan berkomunikasi dengan baik dengan dosen dan staf UIN STS Jambi,” tambahnya.

Sementara itu, Amirul Hakim, dosen dari College Assofa Malaysia, turut mengapresiasi keterlibatan mahasiswa internasional dalam berbagai kegiatan kampus.

“Kami sangat berterima kasih karena mahasiswa internasional selalu dilibatkan pada even-even kampus baik secara lokal maupun nasional,” ungkapnya.
“Sementara ini, seluruh proses MOU dan transfer kredit sudah berjalan dengan baik, hanya mungkin karena ada prodi yang baru mendapat mahasiswa transfer dari Malaysia,” jelasnya.

Kegiatan ini menjadi bukti komitmen UIN STS Jambi dalam membangun atmosfer akademik yang inklusif dan mendukung internasionalisasi pendidikan tinggi berbasis nilai-nilai keislaman dan budaya lokal.
