UIN STS Jambi Jajaki Kerja Sama dengan KITAB Pulau Pinang

Upaya memperluas jejaring internasional pendidikan Islam terus dilakukan UIN Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Pada Kamis, 4 Desember 2025, kampus ini menggelar pertemuan virtual dengan Kolej Islam Teknologi Antar Bangsa (KITAB) Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, melalui aplikasi Zoom. Pertemuan tersebut menjadi langkah awal menuju penandatanganan nota kesepahaman (MoU) yang akan menjadi payung hukum bagi berbagai bentuk kerja sama.

Pertemuan berlangsung hangat dengan perkenalan masing-masing pihak. Dari KITAB hadir Ustazah Khadijah, Ustazah Jannah, dan Ustazah Nur Yusra. Sementara dari UIN STS Jambi, hadir tim Pusat Layanan Kerja Sama Internasional (PLKI) LPPM, Dr. Dion Ginanto, serta perwakilan urusan kerja sama, Ali Ubay. Mahasiswa asal Malaysia di UIN STS Jambi, Solihin Sulaiman, juga turut serta.

Dalam sesi pemaparan, Ustazah Khadijah menjelaskan profil KITAB Pulau Pinang, yang selama ini telah mengirimkan alumninya ke berbagai negara, termasuk Jordan. Dion Ginanto memperkenalkan profil UIN STS Jambi, sedangkan Ali Ubay memaparkan alur penerimaan mahasiswa internasional.

Beberapa poin kerja sama yang dibahas antara lain rencana KITAB mengirimkan alumni diploma untuk melanjutkan studi S1 di UIN Jambi. UIN STS Jambi menyatakan kesediaan menerima dengan sistem pengakuan transfer kredit penuh. Tahap berikutnya adalah pemetaan kecocokan program studi, sebelum pertemuan lanjutan dengan pimpinan fakultas dan rektorat, hingga proses MoU.

“Semoga pertemuan ini membuahkan hasil, dan akan menambah jumlah mahasiswa internasional asal Pulau Pinang,” ujar Dr. Fridiyanto.

Dion Ginanto menegaskan komitmen UIN STS Jambi. “Semoga ini bukan pertemuan pertama dan terakhir. Kami menyambut baik i’tikad ini dan tidak sabar menunggu proses selanjutnya,” katanya.

Ustazah Khadijah menyampaikan harapan agar kerja sama segera diwujudkan. “Semoga tahun depan niat baik ini bisa terwujud. Karena Jambi dekat, mungkin lebih banyak alumni kami yang dapat melanjutkan kuliah transfer ke UIN Jambi,” ujarnya.

Pertemuan ini menandai arah baru hubungan pendidikan Islam antara Jambi dan Pulau Pinang. Jika MoU terealisasi, jalur akademik antarnegara akan semakin terbuka, memperkuat posisi UIN STS Jambi sebagai destinasi pendidikan internasional di kawasan Asia Tenggara.
