Babak Baru Kerjasama UIN STS Jambi dan Michigan State University

Kerjasama UIN STS Jambi dengan Michigan State University mulai memasuki babak baru. Setelah kerjasama dalam bentuk webinar series, International Symphosium, Focus Group Discussion, dan COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning); saat ini chapter kerjasama baru mulai dibuka. 

MSU dan UIN Jambi tengah mempersiapkan Study Abroad Program, di mana mahasiswa dari MSU akan belajar di UIN STS Jambi selama tiga Minggu. Dalam rapat tersebut dibahas tentang kesiapan UIN STS Jambi dalam memberikan layanan seperti host family, academic programs, dan non-academic programs. Selain Study Abroad program rapat juga membahas kerjasama penelitian dalam bidang Food Crisis/ Fight for Food yang akan mendalami tentang pengalihfungsian sawah padi menjadi kebun sawit di banyak daerah di Indonesia terutama di Jambi.

Rapat ini dihadiri langsung oleh Rektor UIN STS Jambi Prof. Dr. Su'aidi, MA., Ph.D, Wakil rektor 1 dan 3, Ka Biro, Dekan beserta Wakil Dekan di lingkungan UIN STS Jambi, serta dari International Office. Dalam rapat tersebut Prof. Dr. Su’adi, langsung memberikan arahan kepada International Office dan seluruh pimpinan fakultas agar melakukan persiapan dalam rangka memberikan pelayanan terbaik pada program studi abroad. “Program ini sangat prestigious, program di mana mahasiswa Amerika akan belajar di kampus UIN Jambi. Sesuatu yang belum pernah kita lakukan sebelumnya. Ini tentu akan menjadi Sejarah baru Kerjasama luar negeri UIN STS Jambi.” 

Prof. Salah berencana akan melakukan kunjungan kembali ke UIN STS Jambi pada bulan Desember, untuk melakukan persiapan dan survey lapangan terkait program studi abroad. Prof. Salah juga akan melakukan projek lain dalam rangka melakukan persiapan untuk program Food Fight dan Environment yang akan diselenggarakan oleh MSU Library. 

Sebagai penutup, Prof. Su’adi menyampaikan bahwa UIN STS Jambi siap membantu dalam bentuk yang tentu nanti akan disepakati lebih lanjut. Ia meminta international office agar dapat menindaklanjuti hal-hal yang diperlukan oleh MSU terkait kesiapan program Kerjasama.
