International Office UIN STS Jambi Sukses Menyelenggarakan Seminar Beasiswa ke Amerika Kerjasama EducationUSA

(Jambi, 15/5) Bertempat di ruang Amphitheatre, Pusat Admisi dan Layanan Internasional (CAIO) bekerjasama dengan EducationUSA mengadakan seminar dan sosialisasi menembus beasiswa ke Amerika Serikat. Kegiatan ini dihadiri langsung oleh Ibu Lilis Su’adah, MA, EducationUSA advisor, Wakil Rektor III, Dekan Fusa, dan Wakil Dekan 1 Fakultas Adab.

Seminar dan sosialisasi yang diikuti oleh dosen dan mahasiswa ini dibuka langsung oleh Bapak Wakil Rektor III, Dr. Bahrul Ulum. Dalam sambutannya Dr. Bahrul Ulum menyampaikan apresiasi kepada EducationUSA yang menjemput bola ke daerah-daerah guna memberi kesempatan yang sama dengan mahasiswa dan dosen yang berada di pulau Jawa. “Mengikuti program shortcourse atau kuliah di Amerika adalah sebuah privilege bagi yang mempunyai kesempatan. Hal ini dikarenakan, mayoritas kampus-kampus besar berpusat di Amerika Serikat.” Ujar Dr. Bahrul Ulum dalam sambutannya. Lebih lanjut ia memotivasi kepada dosen dan mahasiswa untuk lebih bersemangat dalam menggapai cita-cita kuliah ke Amerika Serikat. Karena saat ini peluang beasiswa sangat banyak ada dari LPDP, dari BIB Kemenag, dari Fulbright, dan ada beberapa program shortcourse yang tentu dapat dicoba utnuk mendaftar.

Senada dengan Dr. Bahrul Ulum, Dion Ginanto, Ph.D selalu ketua International Office UIN STS Jambi menyampaikan bahwa dunia ini seperti sebuah buku. Bagi yang belum berkesempatan belajar ke luar negeri bagaikan baru membuka sebuah BAB/chapter saja. Agar dapat membuka chapter-chapter selanjutnya diusahkan untuk dapat melamar beasiswa ke  luar negeri, khususnya di Amerika. Ia juga mengungkapkan bahwa kapal yang besandar di Pelabuhan akan aman. Namun, kapal diciptakan bukan untuk sekedar bersandar, namun ia harus mengarungi Samudra yang luas, melawan ombak dan menghalau badai. Begitu pula mahasiwa dan dosen, tidak boleh puas hanya bersandar pada satu kampus di dalam negeri saja, harus berani untuk mengarungi kampus-kampus di luar negeri. 

Lilis Su’adah, MA dalam paparan materinya menyampaikan beberapa informasi beasiswa ke Amerika Serikat. Bukan hanya beasiswa untuk S2 dan S3 namun ia memberikan informasi program belajar jangka pendek untuk mahasiswa seperti program YSEALI, SUSI, dan YES Program. Ibu Lilis juga memberikan tawaran agar mahasiswa atau dosen membuat group pemburu beasiswa agar ia dapat terus memberikan mentorship gratis. Ia bahkan bersedia untuk memberikan bimbingan menulis esay beasiswa yang tentu juga tidak berbayar.

Kegiatan ini juga dihadiri perwakilan Unit Pengambangan Bahasa (UPB) UIN STS Jambi, Dr. Iswanday Kaslan. Dr. Iswanday atau Dr. Iwan, memberikan paparan seputar pengalamannya mendapatkan beasiswa Fulbright. Ia juga menyampaikan program-program di UPB yang dapat menunjang mahasiswa dan dosen dalam memperoleh beasiswa ke luar negeri. UPB UIN STS Jambi adalah satu-satunya institusi di Jambi yang dapat menyelenggarakan tes TOEFL ITP dan IELTS.

UIN STS Jambi Extends Eid al-Adha Blessings to Overseas Students

JAMBI-  UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin (STS) Jambi distributed sacrificial meat packages to international students on 28 May 2026, marking Eid al-Adha with a gesture of inclusivity. The event took place in front of the former Faculty of Ushuluddin building. The initiative was aimed at allowing foreign students to experience the holiday as they would at home, while extending blessings to the wider university community. Thai students Anwar and Baliya received packages from Vice Rector I, while Malaysian students Adam and Azmi were presented with gifts by Vice Rector II and Vice Rector III.
